1 Hour Webinar Training

PRESENTATION: HIV disproportionately affects people who use both injecting and non-injecting drugs. We will explore the reasons for this and examine how this global epidemic continues to change on a number of fronts.  We will examine how the AIDS epidemic has changed since the world first became aware of this disease in the 1980’s. A framework for more accurately assessing will be provided and accompanied by the most recent available knowledge about the relative risk of specific sexual and drug using behaviors. A focus will be placed on strategies used to help those we are entrusted to serve be able to take action to decrease the likelihood of becoming infecting; transmitting HIV to other people; and accessing care & treatment..   As a result of this webinar participants will be able to:

  1. Learn about HIV risk associated with sexual behaviors and substance use
  2. Gain knowledge about HIV prevention methods
  3. Understand the impact of HIV on the individual and community
