The Adult Services Department at Seacoast Mental Health Center, Inc., is expanding our provision of treatment for adults affected by substance use disorders and are looking to hire a Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Clinician. The SUD Clinician will need to demonstrate knowledge of and experience with a variety of therapeutic strategies (e.g. Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, person-centered, strengths-based), as well as an open-minded approach toward medically assisted treatment. The SUD Clinician will also need to demonstrate awareness and experience working with individuals with co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders. The SUD Clinician will conduct intake assessments, provide individual and group therapy, and should also be able to provide education and referrals regarding local recovery resources. Knowledge and familiarity with the American Society of Addiction Medicine(ASAM) criteria, the Addiction Severity Index (ASI), and the Matrix Model are a plus.
This position requires a Licensed Drug and Alcohol Counselor (LADC), but Masters Licensed Drug and Alcohol Counselor (MLADC) is preferred, with one year’s experience in a treatment setting working with individuals with substance use disorders. Training and experience with individual and group therapy, along with recovery-oriented modalities are essential. If not currently licensed in NH, candidate must be eligible to seek licensure and do so when state criteria have been met.
