Everyone in the gallery was on the edge of their seats when the House voted, earlier this year, on HB 1696 – NH Health Protection Program – with a tie vote (181-181), and the deciding vote rested on the Speaker of the House who voted in favor of the bill. After a March, 2016 vote by the Senate (16-8), today the bill became Law. Heightened enthusiasm was in the air as Governor Hassen and Senator Bradley expressed their gratitude to the copious supporters of the bill. Business owners, recipients of the health plan, advocates, law enforcement, health care representatives, and many others, testified on behalf of this bill and played an integral role in getting the bill signed into Law. Including those who testified was NHADACA Board President Lori Magoon. Lori offered a strong testimony in support of the bill at the Senate Hearing. Staff member Ginger Ross attended many hearings at the House and Senate hearings in support of the bill.
Congratulations New Hampshire, and Senator Bradley. Thank you.
