Philosophy
We, as licensed alcohol and drug counselors of NHADACA, recognize and accept our responsibilities to
  • Enhance the health and safety of the public
  • Promote the well being of our colleagues who are reliable and competent
  • Uphold the integrity of our profession

  • Purpose
When it becomes evident that a practioner's ability to practice is adversely affected, it is our duty to provide a system/method by which confidential referral, assessment, treatment and monitoring can be obtained in order to facilitate a return to practice.

    Goals
    1. To educate the membership of NHADACA about the purpose and objectives of the Peer Assistance Committee.
    2. To motivate impaired counselors to seek professional assistance.
    3. To restore effective performance through early intervention and identification of problems causing impairment.
    4. To facilitate rehabilitation of impaired counselors who follow a plan of recovery.
    5. To provide follow-up and support in the recovery process.
    6. To accept self referrals and referrals from NHADACA, Licensing Board and others.
