Update from the President
Summer is almost gone and I have been reminded almost daily that we expect to go on vacation
but the work demands do not! That being said I am in hopes that all of you did take some time
to rest and relax and enjoy the simple pleasures of health and relaxation with some warmth and
snow free days added!
Time has come upon us to make plans professionally in our organization for the next year.
That means not only an upcoming election for new officers but also the opportunity for us to
recognize our own. This is the time we have to nominate one of our peers for recognition for
the dedicated work they do. As each one of us contributes to the well being of another
individual so do we contribute to the well being of all of us in our profession.
We have become technically more sophisticated! Please take advantage of using the members
only section of the website and placing in your nominee for each of the awards available.
On another note of importance, please plan to attend the annual meeting of our association.
It is on Friday, November 21st and the details are also in the members' only section. At this
meeting for this year we are deviating from our usual format of meeting followed by an
education component. We are replacing this with a very special opportunity to have members of
the licensing board address our group to discuss the new legislation, which governs our
practice. It is essential that you ask the questions you may have regarding the legislation
which went into effect on July 1, 2008 and which binds you legally in your daily professional
work.
The Chairman of the Licensing Board has graciously agreed to be present at this meeting
along with other licensing board members to help answers questions and address the process of
rule making for this new legislation. They have requested that we submit questions we want
addressed to them so they can prepare responses. So if you have any questions please feel free
to email them to me or Becky Moss and we will be sure they get to the
speakers.
8am Wednesday Susan Latham, president elect, and I depart NH for the annual NAADAC meeting,
which is being held in Kansas. We will work diligently to represent you and our state. It is
with pleasure that I have served as president and with enthusiasm that I mentor Susan into this
position for the next 2 years.
So please save the date for the annual meeting, send any questions you may want the licensing
board to address and ENJOIY WHAT IS LEFT to the summer!
God's blessing and peace to you!
Pat
