“LAC always brings a complicated regulation into much easier to understand ‘what it means for me’ language.”
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) recently published two Final Rules amending 42 CFR Part 2, the federal regulations governing the confidentiality of substance use disorder patient records. The first Final Rule took effect on March 21, 2017; the most recent Final Rule, published on January 3, 2018, takes effect February 28, 2018. Substance use disorder treatment programs covered by 42 CFR Part 2, as well as people and organizations who receive information from such programs, are required to comply with the new amendments to the regulations. This webinar is designed to educate participants about the 2017 and 2018 Final Rules, and to help substance use disorder treatment programs comply with the new requirements. Please note that this webinar assumes a basic understanding of 42 CFR Part 2.
