Openings on the LADC Board

The NH Board of Licensing for Alcohol and Other Drug Use Professionals (“Board”) currently has openings to serve on the Board. There are 3 vacancies: 1 Master Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor, 1 Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor and 1 public member vacancy. To be appointed to the Board, the qualifications are;

The MLADC shall be a resident of this state, licensed in good standing, and currently engaged in the practice of the profession, and shall have no fewer than 5 years of experience as an MLADC, at least 3 of which shall have immediately preceded appointment. (Reference RSA 330-C:3)

The LADC shall be a resident of this state, licensed in good standing, currently engaged in the practice of the profession, and shall have no fewer than 5 years of experience as a LADC, at least 3 of which shall have immediately preceded appointment. (Reference RSA 330- C:3).

The Public Member shall be a resident of this state for at least one year who has not, and has never been, licensed or certified under the provisions of this chapter or the spouse of a licensee or certificate holder under this chapter. The public member shall not have, and shall never have had, a material financial interest in either the provision of alcohol and other drug use professional services or an activity directly related to the provisions of such services, including the representation of the board or its predecessor or the profession for a fee at any time during the 5 years preceding the date of appointment. (Reference RSA 330-C:3)

The Board consists of 7 members appointed by the Governor with the advice and consent of the Executive Council. Members of the Board are appointed for 3-year terms and may serve no more than 2 consecutive terms. A reappointment through the Governor and Executive Council is required after the first term.

The principal focus of the Board is to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the public. The Board certifies eligible applicants for licensure, creates and updates administrative rules, acts on complaints and commences disciplinary proceedings, as necessary.

Any NH licensee interested in joining the Board must submit a cover letter indicating their interest and why they feel they are qualified to join the Board. The letter should also indicate what position they are looking to fill, i.e. – LADC, MLADC or Public Member). A current resume that includes legal name, legal residency, contact information (including email and phone number) and 4 letters of recommendation (including at least 2 professional) must also be included.
