NHADACA coordinates core trainings needed for substance use credentials.

NHADACA offers core trainings at least twice a year. If you don’t see one on our schedule now you may see one come up soon.

Core trainings for CRSW are: HIV, Suicide prevention, Ethics for RSW.

Core trainings for LADC/MLADC are: HIV, Ethics, Confidentiality, 12 core functions.

These topics are typically held at the New England Institute of Addiction Studies (NEIAS) summer school. You can find more information about that at www.neias.org.

You may also be able to find these events at other agencies. We put together a list of other events in the area on our professional development calendar which you can find on our events page at www.nhadaca.org/professional-development-calendar/

Ethics trainings are offered more often for different populations.

Prevention Ethics is designed for persons seeking or maintaining the Certified Prevention Specialist (CPS) credential. It can be applied to LADC/MLADC re-licensure but not the initial application. This training is also approved for LICSW and LCMHCs ethics requirements.

Ethics for Recovery Support Workers is designed for persons seeking the Certified Recovery Support Worker credential. It is also applicable to LADC/MLADC initial licensure. This training is accepted for CPS re-certification – not the initial CPS application.

We also offer a variety of Ethics and Boundaries trainings. These ethics trainings are applicable to LADC/MLADC licensing as well as LICSW and LCMHC ethics requirements. This training is accepted for CPS re-certification – not the initial CPS application.

Suicide related trainings – NHADACA seeks to offer trainings on suicide on a regular basis, and when funding allows, offer suicide prevention in the Spring and suicide postvention in the Fall of each year. We also have a webinar on the topic available online. Suicide training is required for mental health counselors, Certified Prevention Specialists, Certified Recovery Support Workers and LADC/MLADC professionals.
