A 6-hour training event with Michael Gaudet, LICSW, LCDP

8:30am – 4:00pm on June 19, 2019

PRESENTATION:  Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is psychotherapeutic treatment approach that utilizes a psycho-social model that helps clients understand the thoughts and feelings that influence behaviors. It is an evidence-based approach that focuses on challenging and changing unhelpful cognitive distortions and behaviors, improving emotional regulation, and the development of personal coping strategies that target solving current problems. CBT is commonly used to treat a wide range of disorders, including phobias, addictions, depression, and anxiety.  As a result of this training participants will:

       State an understanding of the history of the development of CBT;

       Describe the elements of CBT;

       State how CBT addresses symptoms of addiction and mental health;

       Roleplay CBT techniques and structured activities.
