1 Hour Webinar Training with Susan Polyot, M. Ed., LADC, CEAP

PRESENTATION: This one-hour online learning webinar will help participants understand the responsibility of addiction and counseling professionals (as a clinician, clinical supervisor, or program administrator) to protect the confidentiality of their clients and maintain professional boundaries. Susan Polyot will identify ways in which technology presents unique challenges in practice and will discuss important safeguards in using technology to protect client confidentiality. Participants will learn to recognize the importance of establishing policies that secure professional boundaries with clients, co-workers and supervisees; and understand the importance of technology policies to protect confidentiality.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER: Susan Polyot, M. Ed., LADC, CEAP, is the Employee Assistance Program Coordinator for Pen Bay Healthcare in Rockport, Me. Susan has been in this position for 15 years, and for 20 years has provided counseling and consulting services related to substance abuse through her private practice. Susan is the coordinator of a one-year certificate program in Substance Abuse Counseling at a community-based career training college in Bangor, Maine. She has worked in both residential and outpatient substance abuse programs as a clinician and trainer, and has been published in the Journal of Employee Assistance, Developing A Trauma–Informed EAP Assessment (vol.38, 3rd quarter, 2008). Susan’s training presentations include 12 Core Functions, Women and Trauma, Domestic Violence, DOT Substance Abuse Training, Ethics for Substance Abuse Counselors, and workplace specific topics such as Sexual Harassment and Workplace Violence. She is a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor, and Certified Clinical Supervisor.

Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. NHADACA is solely responsible for all aspects of the program.
