SOR Scholarship Application

PRESENTATION:   This presentation will review ethical considerations for counselors providing telehealth services. This presentation is designed to help practitioners stay within their ethical code while providing evidence-based tele services. This presentation will provide an overview of the ethics and skills needed to provide telehealth services. Attendees will leave with a base of knowledge and skills to either implement or enhance their telehealth practice.  As a result of this training, participants will:

  •  Gain understanding of the ethical rules that govern tele services for substance use and mental health clients
  • Learn how to safely implement tele services while maintaining confidentiality and safety for persons-served, particularly in rural settings
  • Gain insight to how to modify current policies & practices to align with ethical requirements.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER:   Dr. Horn received a Doctorate in Psychology, with a teaching emphasis, from Walden University and has over a decade of progressive clinical experience working with the complex diagnoses that often accompany addictions and co-occurring disorders. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and is licensed by the State of Montana as an Addiction Counselor (LAC). She is certified as an SAP (Substance Abuse Professional) to conduct assessments for those with a safety-sensitive position under the Department of Transportation. She also has accreditation from the NAADAC (National Association of Alcohol and Drug Addiction Counselors) as a Masters Level Addiction Counselor (MAC). Malcolm is responsible for ongoing training and education for clinical and support staff.
