Further, opportunities to foster healthy grieving for children and teens will be explored. As a result of this training, participants will:

  • 1. Review cognitive and developmental experiences of child and teenagers loss.
  • 2. Identify and assess characteristics that distinguish normal and complicated grief.
  • 3. Distinguish between adaptive and maladaptive coping responses.
  • 4. Recognize practice considerations and opportunities to support children, teenagers and their families.
