A 2 hour training with Kelly Molloy, CHC

March 02, 2021

8:30am -10:30am

This training will be remote only!

PRESENTATION: This course is designed to educate substance use disorder professionals on the role of wellness and nutrition in prevention, treatment and recovery. This will include an explanation of the biochemical and nutritional factors that can contribute to substance use as well as a review of how nutrients and other wellness practices can be used to support treatment and long term recovery. The course material will provide step by step strategies that can be implemented to help rebalance brain chemistry, optimize nutritional levels and promote overall wellness. As a result of the training the participants will:

● Learn the biochemical basis of addiction and how nutritional imbalances can be just as significant as environmental and/or social factors. This will include a review of key nutrients needed for brain chemistry balance;

● Learn how nutrition and other wellness strategies can be used effectively to help reduce addictive patterns and to aid in recovery. Recommendations will be shared for how we can support at risk youth prior to substance use, as well as how to integrate nutrition in the treatment and recovery phases. This will include learning what foods to suggest and how to easily implement eating habits that will support recovery by giving the brain what it most desperately needs; and

● Learn strategies to aid the natural detoxification of organs most impacted by substance abuse to contribute to optimum health and long term recovery.
