A 2 hour training with Cassie Yackley, Psy.D.

   8:30am – 10:30am on May 20, 2021

This training is remote only!

PRESENTATION: In this session, Cassie Yackley will explore the fundamental role that relationships play in the management of stress.  Unfortunately, so many people have had childhood relational experiences that were negative or even neglectful or abusive, which can rob a person of a sense of worthiness and safety with others.  The behavioral manifestation of this personal experience can be challenging to understand to deal with—interactions can feel negative, disengaged, disrespectful, and aggressive.  Participants will learn strategies for attunement and relationship-building in these circumstances, including those that can be done through a virtual connection.

Objectives:

  • Recognize how negative and neglective past childhood relational experiences can rob trauma survivors and influence their current interactions.
  • Identify best practice strategies to building relationships with clients in person or virtually to develop positively relationships and mitigating negative trauma history.
  •  Apply these relationship building skills to help those at risk for Substance Use Disorder and mental health concerns.
