1 Hour Webinar Training with Albee Budnitz, MD

PRESENTATIONThis training will discuss the population and public health impact of tobacco product use, including disparities; tobacco products from cigarettes’ to electronic devices’ health impacts relative to tobacco related disease as well as and especially as relates to Tobacco Use Disorder (TUD) -nicotine addiction; what can be done about it; and how all this relates to youth.

As a result of this training participants will be able to:

  1. Identify why tobacco product use is a population, public health and societal problem;
  2. Understand nicotine and nicotine addiction; and how it relates to tobacco products; and
  3. Become aware of what can be done about it and resources to do it.
ABOUT THE PRESENTERAlbee Bunditz, MD is physician with 40 years’ experience treating pulmonary diseases and an expert in tobacco impact on disease, particularly lung cancer. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Yale University and M.D. from Wayne State University. He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Disease. He recently retired from active medical practice in Nashua. He served as the President of American Lung Association, NH. He was the Medical Advisor to NH/VT Respiratory Therapy Society as well as serving on multitude of Boards of Directors including Breath New Hampshire and Nashua Partnership for Tobacco Free Youth. Dr. Bunditz has had multiple teaching appointments.

Dr. Bunditz was one of select few to be called “Koop’s Troops in The Tobacco Wars” in the 1990s when he worked closely with Dr. C. Everett Koop whose fight on tobacco use is legendary. Dr. Bunditz continues to be part of the Koop Institute of the Norris Cotton Cancer Center at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. He chairs the Tobacco Free NH network, the Nashua Prevention Coalition and teaches tobacco issues to UNECOM and Dartmouth med students and anyone else who cares to listen.
