PRESENTATION: This is a (6) hour Training specific to Substance Abuse for addiction professionals and other service providers interested in increasing their understanding of the link between stimulant and opioid abuse, human trafficking, & sex trafficking. Participants will be provided information regarding sex trafficking dynamics. Participants will also be equipped with tools to assist clients in recognizing the trauma of their past, including sex trafficking, while seeking recovery from substance use disorders.

Upon completion of the event, participants will be able to:

  •  Define sex trafficking and to distinguish between Sex Trafficking and the term sex worker;
  • Identify the link between sex trafficking and substance abuse;
  • Identify the link between substance abuse and becoming a sex worker;
  •  Highlight victim risk factors and prevention strategies;
  • Provide insight for addressing trauma related to trafficking experiences, thereby increasing the possibility of ongoing recovery; and
  • Recognize the SUD relapse risks associated with  clients who have sex trafficking and sex worker history.

    ABOUT THE PRESENTER: Pamela Morgan, MBA/CADC/CPRM is a nationally known trainer and substance abuse professional – providing services since 1993. She is the owner of KEY INSIGHTS, LLC., an approved professional development training provider with the Michigan Certification Board of Addiction Professionals (MCBAP). Best known for her training Toxic Relationships: Another Addiction, she develops and facilitates various topics including Addiction to Crime, Enhancing Motivation for Change, Recovery Relapse and the 12 Steps and Addiction in the Church. With more than 27 years of personal recovery, over 23 years of experience working with treatment, prevention, correctional and adolescent populations, and more than 18 years providing professional development training, Morgan offers a wealth of personal and professional experience.

    NH Alcohol & Drug Abuse Counselors Association has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider. ACEP No 6754. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. NHADACA is solely responsible for all aspects of the program.

    PLEASE NOTE: Only one registrant per form.  For multiple registrants you must register each one individually.  Registration is not complete or guaranteed until payment is received.  Payment by means other than credit card may slow down completion of registration.  Checks and cash are still accepted, however, your registration will be placed on a pending list until payment is received.  We strongly encourage payment by credit card for training of high demand topics.  Thank you.
