As a published author and public advocate, he consistently elevates the voice and value of peer support at both local and state levels. His tireless efforts to educate, lead, and inspire make him an outstanding and deserving candidate for the Peer Recovery Support Worker of the Year award."


Biography:

Bret is a Certified Recovery Support Worker (CRSW), a Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS) and is a Nationally Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist (NCPRSS). He is employed by NAMI NH as a Peer Recovery Support Supervisor, supervising peers in NFI North’s Transitional Housing and Community Resident Programs across New Hampshire. He is a board approved supervisor for CRSW’s and facilitates trainings for that credential as well. Additionally, Bret is a published author on topics related to the peer specialist profession. He is an advocate for all peers, speaking publicly and educating individuals at local and state levels on the roles, responsibilities and values of peer support work. Bret is a trainer of Choices Peer Recovery Support Specialist Training and Choices Ethical Foundations for Peer Recovery Coaches, NAMI Connect Suicide Prevention, Choices HIV/AIDS for Recovery Support Workers, Choices Suicide Prevention for Recovery Support Workers, Co-Author and Trainer for Choices Performance Domains/Supervising Certified Recovery Support Workers for LADCs and MLADCS, Co-Author and Trainer of Choices Let’s Talk Suicide Training, Co-Author and Trainer of Choices Mental Health Basics for Peer Recovery Support Workers, Co-Author of CRSW’s Supervising CRSW’s, Trainer for NAMI Connect Suicide Prevention, and a former state trainer for Intentional Peer Support Core Training. Additionally, he is a facilitator for Wellness Recovery Action Plan, a member of the New Hampshire Peer Advisory Council, a former member of the New Hampshire Behavioral Health Planning and Advisory Council serving as Vice Chair, and a member of the New Hampshire Disaster Behavioral Health Response Team. Bret has worked with state and local leaders to educate, integrate and advocate for peer services throughout all human service professions.​
