There are several opportunities for training and conference scholarships.

NHADACA facilitates several Bureau of Drug and Alcohol Services (BDAS) scholarships as well as its own scholarship opportunities.

NHADACA provides two member scholarships to regional/national conferences in addition to

Train It Forward Scholarships and Clinician Scholarships to our NH Training Institute on Addictive Disorders events.

      Megan Parnell Scholarship

Megan Parnell, was a compassionate therapist dedicated to suicide awareness and serving the substance use community, provided hope and support to people in need. Megan overcame personal and professional challenges in order to be a lifeline to her clients. In honor of Megan, and to further her legacy, her family offers this scholarship annually to NH residents who are Certified as Recovery Support Workers and seeking to become counselors. This scholarship supports attendance at the NH Behavioral Health Summit.

The NH Behavioral Health Summit is the premiere annual conference for people who work in substance use and mental health professions. It is held annually in Manchester, NH. For more information about the Summit visit

Eligibility requirements:  NH resident that currently works as a Certified Recovery Support Worker(CRSW) and is working toward their LADC or MLADC.

Train-it-Forward Scholarship

Our unique Train-it- Forward scholarship program provides the opportunity to  attend any of our NHADACA events through the generous donations we receive throughout the year!

Clinician Scholarship

Due to a generous donation from the Bank of NH, scholarships are available for clinicians seeking additional information about working with clients with substance use and  co-occurring disorders.  Scholarships may be applied to NHADACA / NHTIAD  training events. 

Eligibility requirements:  applicant must be working toward MLADC credential. 

Scholarship Application

      New England School of Best Practices Scholarship

NHADACA awards this $500 scholarship opportunity for advanced level practitioners each year. AdCare Educational Institute will host the New England School of Best Practices event this year on

August 28 - September 1, 2023.  

Eligibility requirements:  current NHADACA member with LADC or MLADC, whom has been a member in good standing for the past 5 years.

Scholarship Application

Annual NAADAC Conference Scholarship

The 2023 Annual NAADAC conference will be held in Denver, CO at the Gaylord Rockies Resort & Convention Center from October 6-12, 2023.  NHADACA awards this scholarship opportunity each year.  The scholarship includes registration and travel expenses (such as airfare, standard baggage fees, lodging, mileage, tolls and parking). Scholarship does not include food/meals.

*Acceptance of this scholarship includes an agreement to attend a portion of the NAADAC Board Meeting and to also speak about your overall conference experience at the

NHADACA 2023 Annual Meeting on September 28, 2023. 

Eligibility requirements:  current NHADACA member (current LADC/MLADC licensure is not required). Representatives on NHADACA Board of Directors within the past 5 years are not eligible. Scholarship recipients are chosen by the NHADACA Board.
