Peter Mason, MD:

Why are you nominating this individual?

"Dr. Mason has been instrumental in advocating full integration of primary care and Behavioral Health (including addiction services) for decades. He has spent years educating medical providers on the dynamics of addiction, how to medically treat those with addictions, harm reduction components and efforts to reduce stigma. He has been a steadfast New England advocate in addressing addictions and the cognitive aspects that are included both in the addictive process, recovery and family components.

I can think of no one else who has dedicated their life to these efforts as strongly as Peter has. I have seen the reactions of medical providers to his presentations/conversations and have heard the changes in providers responses to those with addictions."
