"I am very eager to nominate Sue for "counselor of the year award". She is an unrecognized hero in our field; and her being recognized by our profession of NH License Alcohol and Drug Counselor association is well overdue! She is well known by her peers for her professionalism and dedication in treating folks affected by substance use disorders.
Sue is known foremost as an excellent counselor. Her approach of being truly client centered, or ""meeting folks where they are at"" immediately fosters a therapeutic relationship. She is a skilled clinician who readily adopts her counseling techniques and utilizes motivation therapy to support her patients' goals. She is a natural teacher. She always strives to update curricula and leverages technology to assist her teaching strategies in group therapy. Finally, Sue takes her role as a supervisor very seriously. She makes it her priority to be attentive, nurturing, and well prepared for each session to promote the supervisee's professional and personal growth! SUE #1"
Biography:
Current position 14 years as a counselor at Concord Hospital Substance Use Services; providing assessments, individual, group counseling and supervision. Also has license in Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist. She has been in the Field of SUD for 26 years and held her LADC for past 21 years. She has LCS for the past 15 years. She completed her Master of Arts in organizational leadership in 2022.
