PRESENTATION: This training is designed for intermediate and advanced clinicians seeking to improve their understanding of eating disorders and the current models of treatment. During this training, participants will learn techniques for both diagnosing and treatment using theoretical models and real world skills. Special emphasis will be placed on the complicating factors that interfere with effective treatment and long lasting recovery. The similarities and differences between eating disorders and other mental health diagnoses will be addressed.
Learn intermediate and advanced treatment methods and how to apply them.
Learn positive and negative aspects of individual, group, IOP and residential treatment.
Review proper treatment for individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance abuse issues.
Describe their own experiences with eating disordered clients.
Explore the structure of therapeutic teams for supporting clients.
Practice the use of modeling proper eating for their clients.
Learn what not to do when working with eating disordered clients.
