1 Hour Webinar Training with Gia Drew

PRESENTATION: This one hour TRANSGENDER 101 webinar is a basic introduction to what it means to be Transgender. Included will be information about why we should become better informed about this issue and what it’s like to be a Transgender person in society today. The presentation will address terminology and language that is supportive of Transgender people and the situations they may face navigating family, work, and transition, should they decide to do so. There will be facts about the barriers transgender people encounter because of ongoing stigma and ignorance and a summary of best practices to support Transgender individuals.

As a result of this training participants will:

1. Learn what it means to be Transgender by learning and hearing about the experiences of transgender people;
2. Understanding the language and terminology related to Transgender people, including the differences between Sex and Gender;
3. Have a clearer picture of what Transitioning means to each person; and
4. Learn best practices to use when interacting with a Transgender person.
