1 Hour Webinar Training with Haner Hernandez-Bonilla, PhD, CPS, CADCA II, LADC I

PRESENTATION: Hepatitis C (HCV) impacts 5-7 million of Americans and their families. The growing opioid epidemic continues to increase risks for vulnerable populations. This webinar will educate behavioral health providers on hepatitis C and its impact on the communities they served. The webinar is designed to help providers understand strategies, tools and the skills needed to integrate hepatitis C prevention, education, counseling, and linkage to care in their settings.

As a result of this webinar participants will be able to:

1. List at least three populations at-risk for hepatitis C infection
2. Explain the difference between acute and chronic hepatitis C infection
3. Discuss at least two reasons why it is important to promote hepatitis C screening and testing
4. List treatment factors to consider and describe at least two new treatment options available to for patients with HCV
5. Provide examples of strategies to link persons infected with HCV to health care
