A 3 hour training event with Malcolm Horn, PhD, LCSW, MAC

10:30am – 2:00pm on July 8, 2020

This training is remote only!

SOR Scholarship Application

PRESENTATION:  This presentation is designed to be an introduction for those that are interested in doing telehealth counseling. This presentation will provide a general overview of the process including some basic tools, techniques, confidentiality practices and ethical considerations. Technology now allows us to serve clients in rural areas where access to licensed care may be limited. Telehealth allows for competent care but we must make sure we have the tools we need to safely provide the service. As a result of this training, participants will be able to:

  • Know what telehealth is and how is it different from face-to-face counseling.
  • Learn basic tips and techniques for a successful telehealth practice.
  • Have the knowledge to be able to implement telehealth in your current practice.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER:   Dr. Horn received a Doctorate in Psychology, with a teaching emphasis, from Walden University and has over a decade of progressive clinical experience working with the complex diagnoses that often accompany addictions and co-occurring disorders. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and is licensed by the State of Montana as an Addiction Counselor (LAC). She is certified as an SAP (Substance Abuse Professional) to conduct assessments for those with a safety-sensitive position under the Department of Transportation. She also has accreditation from the NAADAC (National Association of Alcohol and Drug Addiction Counselors) as a Masters Level Addiction Counselor (MAC). Malcolm is responsible for ongoing training and education for clinical and support staff.
