A 6-hour training with Joseph Zannella, MA, LADC

October 13, 2023

8:30am-4pm

PRESENTATION: This training is designed to advance our understanding of the biological components of addiction. It addresses both chemical addictions and behavior addictions such as gambling and social media. It is appropriate for clinicians, preventions specialists and administrative staff. The most up to date research and information available will help us to not only understand addiction but inform our plans for recovery, and educate our clients. New chemicals of abuse will be presented and the latest information on internet related addictions and compulsions will be reviewed.

Upon completion of this training, participants will be able to:

  • List the basic nervous system processes underlying addiction;
  • Describe how to better present this information to our clients;
  • Adjust a client’s recovery plan to maximize success; and
  • Summarize techniques on how to effectively treat the biological issues that develop from addictions effects on the central nervous system.
