A 2-Hour Training with David Fawcett, PhD, LCSW, CSAT

April 18, 2024

9:00am-11:00am

PRESENTATION: Reclaiming healthy sex and intimacy is often problematic because of the fusion of sex and drugs. It requires time, patience and skill to manage this aspect of recovery. Topics will include client skills such as dating plans, tools for avoiding drug-related arousal template triggers and other issues related to intimacy such as vulnerability, trust, and communication skills.

Following this training, participants will be able to:

  1. Categorize various ways that substance misuse alters the sexual arousal template;
  2. Name at least 2 strategies to assist clients in reclaiming affirming sexual behavior in sobriety; and
  3. Describe essential components of intimacy as well as strategies to help clients incorporate these skills in recovery.
